Retired bike racer and cross country mountain biker, this is my 1st foray into the world of e-bikes and this bike delivers both fun and practicality. It’s easy to set up when you get it, but it is heavy and large, if this bike was a car, it would really be a truck, which is exactly what I wanted. I leave my old CRV now whenever I can,
mostly because it makes the mundane and ordinary fun, and I get some exercise too. I carry a can of fix a flat in the panniers for the rear, the front is easy. I may put wing nuts on the back wheel for tooless wheel removal, but it’s ok to ride home slowly if I ever did get a side wall cut on a tire, and do the repair at home.
This a hard bike to get to a bike shop, but if you take off the battery’s and wheels off, not easy on the back, it will go in a minivan. Also, the footboards are hard to remove without some finishing work with the spring loaded detects in the frame. I flip the orbitron handrail upside down, and use the panniers top of the rear rack, instead of the side as a result. Way better for me. How about an electric center stand. I find it hard to raise the loaded bike on the center stand, I’m 6’2” 200lbs, but it’s manageable. It’s so much more fun being able to move all the weight of the loaded bike with the motor, than having to use a back pack for just a few items on my analog(?) mtb. Plus, it will get the jump at the light compared to all the cars! Make it waterproof, and you get 5 stars. My first Canondale road bike with Dura…

For about one month, I have been doing deliveries on my Expedition 2.0. Setting up the bike was fairly easy without any real instructions. I added the Panniers and Large Food Delivery Box to be able to deliver maximum cargo. The suspension seat is nice for riding for hours. The lighting is nice and visible. I'm still dialing in the suspension but it is pretty comfortable. After unlocking to Level 3, this bike becomes a rabbit. I got to 28mph (and I weigh 260).
Handling is more like a motorcycle than a BMX. The extra length and weight do make cornering a different experience. Tight turns are not the easiest (but when you're carrying cargo, you obviously don't want to be leaning in the corners so much. The battery level indicator on the display is merely for show. It goes from 100% to 10% with no in between. So know your batteries and follow the voltage.
When I bought the bike, I mentioned that I was not carrying passengers. I did not need the Orbitor or the seat cushions. They sent them anyways. I hate to see unnecessary SWAG go to waste. Maybe they could focus on creating packages designed for each rider type instead of giving away product that will just collect dust.
The pannier bags are very nice. Easily pop on and off the bike for shopping and they are well crafted. Unless you have the Large Food Delivery Box. If you have your LFDB mounted with the Panniers, it is almost impossible to get them off without removing the Box. I still have access to the Panniers, I…
